University of Exeter Press confirmed as publisher of current writing project: 'Britain and the Video Boom'

It gives me great pleasure to announce that, just as my first book, Contemporary British Horror Cinema, is released this week through Edinburgh University Press, my second monograph has just been contracted by the University of Exeter Press. Entitled Britain and the Video Boom: Tracking Popular Culture in the 1970s and 80s, the book historicises the formative years of video rental culture in the UK.

I'd like to thank the commissioning editor, Simon Baker, for having faith in the project. It's an honour to be working with such an historic publisher.

Some of my early forays into this research area are due to be published next year, as part of the Routledge Companion to British Cinema History, edited by Laraine Porter, Ian Hunter and Justin Smith.
